Delvera’s Oak Leaf Lodge Offers Affordable Wine Farm Getaways

Guests are provided with: braai facilities, – a grid and braai tools are provided and wood is for sale on the farm – as well as secure, shaded parking with electronic access.

Breakfast is included and is served every morning at Simonsberg Cafè on Delvera Farm.

Situated just 50 km from Cape Town, on the Delvera Farm, and just 10km from Stellenbosch, Oakleaf Lodge is the perfect weekend getaway for those wanting adventure without having to embark on a long journey.

With so much to see and do in the area, the Lodge is ideal for outdoor enthusiast. Get in touch with nature by taking a hike in the Klapmutskop Conservancy or take the kids on an adrenalin-packed pump-track run by the Dirtopia Trail Centre.

Visitors can also explore the Stellenbosch Wine Region on foot with Wine Walks. The full day tour comes complete with pick up and drop off, a picnic with water, snacks and drinks, and a delicious lunch with wine and drinks.

* There is plenty to do for adults and children – you can select delicious olives from Chrisna’s Olives and Deli or get in touch with nature by taking a gently rejuvenating hike in the Klapmutskop Conservancy and enjoy breathtaking views, especially on a full moon hike with a scrumptious picnic.

* Little Wool Shop & Farm Kitchen has a huge variety of wool and a cute tea garden while Johan Swart Ceramics studio has a selection of beautiful hand crafted pottery.

* The indigenous garden at the Klapmutskop Conservancy Nursery – where you can also buy medicinal and culinary herbs and plants – will appeal to all gardeners.

* Earthworm Al, Delvera’s bulk earthworm breeding facility, offers wormeries; children’s pet earthworm farms; meal worms for feeding fish, birds and pet reptiles; Bokashi composting systems and Bokashi bran.

* Topaz Wines, now located at Delvera, was one of the first garagistes in South Africa. From a first production of just three barrels of Pinot Noir in 1996 they are now making 18 barrels of scrumptious Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Viognier.
